Fishers are rare, wide-ranging predators occurring throughout lowland forests of central and northeastern British Columbia. With their populations considered of special concern and as Identified Wildlife, fishers require special habitat management by forest licensees and other habitat managers.
Fisher habitat and forestry can co-exist. If you are ready to do your part to help enhance fisher habitat in British Columbia, this website will provide you will information and tools to help you to identify key habitat features and conditions required by fishers to apply within your own operational framework.
The Fisher Habitat Working Group gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program for its contribution to the British Columbia Fisher Habitat and Forestry Web Module.
